PCtransfer

Say you have an old Windows XP computer and you want to upgrade to a new Windows 8 computer. How do you transfer important data from one to the other? The answer is simple! You use PCtransfer, a free and portable data transfer assistant.

As mentioned above, PCtransfer is a portable application. This means you will not have to go through an installation procedure. What you will have to do is download an executable and run the downloaded executable. Do so and you will be presented with the application’s dark-themed and user friendly interface.

There are only two buttons on the left hand side of the application’s dark-themed interface:
Backup – select the files and settings that will be backed up. All backed up data can be transferred to a new PC.
Restore – select a backup and use it to restore files and settings.

Lots of data can be backed up with PCtransfer: desktop files, IE/Chrome/Firefox favorites and settings, Word/Excel/PowerPoint and other documents, pictures, music, videos, emails, chat data, downloads, iTunes downloaded data, IObit products settings, custom files. Just select the data you want to back up, select where you want to back it up, and launch the backup process. Then take the backup to another PC and use the restore feature to transfer the data from the backup.

PCtransfer is free software. You can use this application for free for as long as you want.
